Machu Picchu 2 Days

This option is clearly the most popular as it allows you to have plenty of time in Machupicchu and most importantly early in the morning to first encounter Machu Picchu as the sun rises over the high mountains encircling it....notice that visitors who take the 1 Day tour unfortunately will spend more hours inside the train, travelling... than spending time visiting Machupicchu...

Day 1: Cusco - Aguas Calientes

Collection from your hotel in Cusco between approx. 06:40 am- 6.50am.

The train ride consists of spectacular views in this wonderful land of the Incas, amazing landscapes of mountains and valleys, Inca farming terraces on both sides of the valley, snow-capped mountains and sub-tropical jungle near the high jungle or Ceja de Selva. From Pachar the sacred Vilcanota River will be our companion until arrival at Aguas Calientes 7500ft well known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. Our Guide will be there waiting for your arrival at the train station and accompany you to Hotel where you can settle and prepare for your lunch. You will have the rest of the afternoon free time wandering the local markets, the Botanical garden, new Machu Picchu museum or walk to Mandor waterfall. Or for the daring, climb Putucusi Mountain (3hrs, steep gradient including ladders up to 20m each, only recommended for the very fit with no vertigo). You may like to relax in the hot springs in the evening.

Day 2: Machu Picchu- Ollantaytambo- Cusco

Early breakfast at 05:00 am at your Hotel. Then we are ready to board the first bus to Machupicchu at approx. 05.30am and arrive at the entrance at 06.00am when the gates of this Sanctuary is open (please have your passport on hand). Guiding tour of Machupicchu City before the crowds arrive ‘cause the site is full of people, it takes approx. 2.5 - 3 Hrs and leads you through all the most important areas ,viewpoints, so called temples, residences, best spots and all archaeological sites with the insights of very capable guides. After our interesting tour you have plenty of time for more exploration in your own, time to do the Huayna Picchu climb

NOTE: Climbing to Huayna Picchu mountain (1.5 -2 Hrs), if you are booking for high season and Huayna Picchu permits have already run out then we can offer permits for the Montana Machu Picchu climb. This is higher so check the information.

If you prefer to do that option let us know immediately and we can book it. The cost for this extra mountain is $80 per person. But if you prefer the other side of the city one of the other walks such as these 2 which are already included in the Machu Picchu ticket. Walk to "Intipunku" the Sun Gate where the classic Inca Trail ends (1.5 hrs) walk to the Inca bridge located south of Machupicchu (1hr.) All these walks are without a guide are clearly signed.and.easy.to.find.

2 Days "break of day" Machupicchu experience!!! This option is clearly the most popular as it allows you to have plenty of time in Machupicchu and most importantly early in the morning to first encounter Machu Picchu as the sun rises over the high mountains encircling it....notice that visitors who take the 1 Day tour unfortunately will spend more hours inside the train, travelling... than spending time visiting Machupicchu...we highly recommend this 2 Day "SUNRISE" tour so you can discover this sanctuary. Machu Picchu is partly located in the Andes and partly in the Amazon cloud and rainforest and it is characterized by tropical vegetation. The invaluable archaeological heritage of the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary combines magnificently with the splendid natural surroundings that are the habitat for unique species of flora and fauna, some of them threatened with extinction.
Machupicchu recently declared as one of the 7 Wonders of the New World is not a place to stay only for few hours, after a 4 hours classic train, with spectacular Andes, snow-capped mountains highlands and jungle views.
